Photographic Compositions

Image
Photographic Compositions  Proportion in relation to human scale The ball in proportion to a human is quite small, it could fit in the palm of my hand with ease.  Absence of emphasis  In this picture there is no emphasis on any item in particular. There is several trees, along with grass, a road, and the sky.  Emphasis by contrast The contrast of the blue ball against the light gray gravel makes the ball stand out and the point of interest in the photo.  Exaggerated Scale With the leaf so close to the camera, it creates the illusion that the leaf if bigger than the tree in the background.  Large and small scale together  The small ball is sitting on top of the large propane tank making the ball look very small in comparison.  Emphasis by isolation The ball is sitting by its lonesome on the elevated platform with the small amount of background. It is isolating the ball and making it look as if there is no other thing around it.

Linear Displacement

Image
This is my final project. I chose to do this design because I enjoy the curving lines and also the triangle looking like it is going into the background. This is one of my practice project. These are my first two practice projects. This is one of my last practice projects, I tried playing around with the displacement and circles.

The Principles of Design

Image
I created a design for each or the principles. For balance I did a line down the middle and three white sections and two black sections on each side symbolizing balance throughout the design. My alignment design was lines that go into a slight point in a repetitive pattern all aligned. For the emphasis pattern I drew wavy lines into the center of the triangle into a flower to draw your eye in. The proportion pattern is three triangles that are all perfectly centered in one another. For the movement I drew a bunch of random lines extruding in opposite directions with smaller lines branching off to keep your eyes moving throughout the design. In the pattern design I drew zig-zag lines and on each side of the zig-zag are thick straight lines repeating a couple times to create a pattern. For contrast, I put circles going in every direction and outlined them in black and colored the empty space around solid black to create a contrast from the white circles. In the last triangle...

Design Process

What problem did you solve when you designed your best set of initials?  What did you communicate? Did you make them feel a certain way? Could your design inspire them to do something? Did you reach a design solution that truly satisfies you. Explain.    1.) The problem I solved when designing my initials was trying to make them look neat and precise. I came up with eight different designs on my initials and chose my top three initial designs.  a.) I wanted to communicate a sense of playfulness in my initials, they are neat, but have a fun design or include something that is fun to look at.  b.) I did reach a design that I am satisfied with. I liked my design, because I think it reflected me as a person and the design I choose to work in when I am creating art.   Sydney Licht has determined was she is attracted to in her thinking and looking process are ‘things that are associated with eating and buying’. If you had to decide (you...

Initials on Adobe Capture

Image
I chose these three designs because they were my favorite out of the 8 I drew. At first attempt I tried to use my middle initials to, but all together there was too much going on and it seemed more right to just use my first and last initial. The first image was my favorite, it is my first and last initial in bubble form with a slight gradient in each letter going in the opposite direction. The second image I was playing around with what I could do with my initials and I turned the M into mountains and the C is a sun. I wanted this one to be playful and enjoyable to look at. My last image was one chosen by a classmate, I like it and wanted it to be simple but still have a sleek look to it.
