Proportion in relation to human scale

The ball in proportion to a human is quite small, it could fit in the palm of my hand with ease. 

Absence of emphasis 

In this picture there is no emphasis on any item in particular. There is several trees, along with grass, a road, and the sky. 

Emphasis by contrast

The contrast of the blue ball against the light gray gravel makes the ball stand out and the point of interest in the photo. 

Exaggerated Scale

With the leaf so close to the camera, it creates the illusion that the leaf if bigger than the tree in the background. 

Large and small scale together 

The small ball is sitting on top of the large propane tank making the ball look very small in comparison. 

Emphasis by isolation

The ball is sitting by its lonesome on the elevated platform with the small amount of background. It is isolating the ball and making it look as if there is no other thing around it.
